We would like to propose that for the sake of argument lets all agree that the following assumptions are true. This by no means is to insult anyone's beliefs and/or religious ideologies. The assumptions are so that we all carry out this discussion based on a common coordinate system.
Assumptions
- God exists
- Sin exists
- Heaven exists
If we all agree that the above is true- then is it not a sin for Iranians to go to Mecca and spend all this money in a foreign land when our own children are starving? Are we to believe that "God" will look upon us more favorable and we will go to the promised "heavens" if we let children die of hunger but sacrifice animals in a desert only to have them either burried or sold by Saudi Arabia possibly back to ourselves in Iran?
In 1998 alone more than 35,000 Iranians visited Mecca and are apparently first runner's up in going to heaven! We all can guess how much each traveller spends in this trip so simply multiplying it by 35,000 could give us an idea of what this money can do for our own children. Why then do we go to Mecca? The only explanation is simply we don't care about Iran!
